Have you heard about the new skate shop opening in Ybor City??? 01-29-2010
How is Skatepark of Tampa going to respond to this? Very easy... By filling it with the illest brands in the industry. It's their newest offering. That's right, now you can head to seventh in Ybor City to get your food, beer and skate needs all under one roof. In March, Brian Schaefer and the Skatepark Of Tampa will be opening "The Bricks" on seventh avenue in Ybor City. Next time you're in town swing by and check it out. It looks to be a fully operational bar, coffee shop, eatery with a boutique skate shop.

If you're lucky, the Senator will be there. Gross.

Nate Sherwood reads FTK and is HYPED on Cody Lucas. 01-21-2010
An email from out boy Nate. "I just have to say with all the piles of paper I go over day in and day out. F#cking the web links and so fourth. I get sick of seeing the same crap over and over. another switch heel another f#cking back lip. another cord pant kid with a slappy back tail to kick flip out to revert in a dusty ditch in AZ. Well I will say today changed that. When I opened the new FTK and saw this innovation and creSKATEtion by none other than CODY LUCAS the front blunt 360 flip out is hands down the best thing I have ever seen in FTK. Innovators and inventors my age younger and older would drop their jaw at this photo. Coming from a nerd perspective, this is history. This trick has never been done at least documented if it were. I have been in skating for over 22 years, have every vid. yes every vid, and just about seen every issue of every mag and nobody has done this. I am keeping this issue to show my grand kids.
Keep up the good work FTK and Cody and keep innovation alive."
Cheers.

HAROLD HUNTER DAY III – OCTOBER 10, 2009 – NEW YORK CITY 09-30-2009
The Harold Hunter Foundation, in partnership with Zoo York, New Era, CCS and DC Shoes, is proud to announce that the 3rd Annual Harold Hunter Day will take place Saturday, October 10th, in New York City.

Established in 2006 after Harold’s untimely passing, HH Day III will once again unite NYC’s skateboarding community for a positive day of shredding in honor of the one-and-only, Harold Hunter.

An iconic figure in New York’s downtown scene, Harold’s larger-than-life personality and generous nature touched the lives of countless people around the world. HH Day commemorates a life well lived by celebrating the things Harold loved most–skateboarding, music, friends, family, good times and of course, NYC.

On Saturday afternoon, October 10th, HH Day III will kick off at the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark on the corner of Pike and Monroe Streets in Chinatown. An all-ages skate jam will run from 1–5pm with pop-up best trick events throughout the day, a massive product toss and beats courtesy of DJ Smoke LES and DJ Ani.

Once the skate jam is a wrap, an after-party will go down from 9pm-Midnight at KCDC Skateshop located at 90 North 11th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Open to the 21+ crowd only, Harold’s party people will enjoy free beverages and live music, with mini-ramp sessions in full effect all night.

As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Harold Hunter Foundation relies on support from the skateboarding community to achieve its mission of providing “inner-city youth with valuable life experiences and opportunities for personal and professional growth by encouraging and sponsoring their interest in skateboarding.”

With this goal in mind, an exclusive run of limited edition HH Day III T-shirts and New Era hats will be sold to commemorate the event with proceeds benefiting the HH Foundation. Both items feature a collage of classic Harold portraits shot and donated by long-time friend and acclaimed photographer/videographer, Giovanni Reda. The T-shirt ($20) and hat ($35) will be available for purchase separately, or together as a kit ($50).

“As Harold once said, ‘Growing up in New York I never thought it would be like this, but now being here in New York it is like this,’” says Mark Nardelli, HH Day co-organizer and CCS brand director. “Let’s keep things popp’n like Harold always did and have a good time skating with his extended NYC family.”

Harold Hunter Day III is made possible through generous support from the numerous people and companies that played an integral role in Harold’s life. This year a special thank you goes out to Zoo York, New Era, CCS, DC Shoes, Shut, Camp Woodward, KCDC, 5boro, UXA, Brooklyn Brewery, Acapulco Gold, DQM, The Professionals A/V and DJ Equipment, Hopps, Alien Workshop, Habitat, Official, Verte, Billy’s Nuts, Frank151, Instant Winner, Famous, Savage, Off Bowery, Autumn, Anything, Rival, Homage, Supreme, Dah Shop, POST, Rockstar Bearings and Red Bull.

JACK OLSON WINS GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR SKATE PARK FINALS IN SALT LAKE CITY 09-24-2009
JACK OLSON WINS GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR SKATE PARK FINALS IN SALT LAKE CITY

As Champion, Olson Will Compete Against Dew Tour Pros at PlayStationŽ Pro, Oct. 15-18

Salt Lake City – September 19, 2009 – Jack Olson won the skate park contest Saturday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, being held in conjunction with the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge.

Going into the final jam session in second place, Olson, a 14-year-old St. Louis Park, Minn. native, used the 10 minutes to land a number of technical tricks – including a switch 270 front board and a big spin back lip – to clinch the win. Australian Ray Macken finished in second place, using a huge backside flip and a kickflip back lip, while Poway, Calif.-native Brendon Villanueva’s hardflip and double flip gave him the third-place spot.

“It feels great. I never dreamed it would happen to me,” Olson said. “It took me three contests to qualify for the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, so this gave me the chance to prove myself. I knew there was a way bigger prize at stake, so I knew I had to skate harder than I ever have.”

With the win at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, Olson earns a spot in the Dew Tour’s PlayStationŽ Pro in Orlando, Fla., October 15-18, to compete against the pros.

The Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals are being held in conjunction with the Toyota Challenge, a four-day competition that is the fourth of five stops on the Dew Tour, which features skateboarding, BMX and freestyle motocross.

CLAY KREINER WINS GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR SKATE VERT FINALS IN SALT LAKE CITY

As Champion, Kreiner Will Compete Against Dew Tour Pros at PlayStationŽ Pro, Oct. 15-18

Salt Lake City – September 18, 2009 – Clay Kreiner won the skate vert contest Friday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, being held in conjunction with the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge.

Out of a field of eight emerging amateur vert skaters, 12-year-old Clay Kreiner of Simpsonville, S.C., the youngest of the group, earned the win with the huge height on each of his tricks, including a stalefish into the gap and a 540 to seal the victory. Apopka, Fla.-native Dalton Dern clinched second place with a blunt to fakie and back-to-back 540s. Rounding out the top three was Sammy Schoonderwoerd of Carlsbad, Calif., who landed a huge backside 540 and a McTwist.

“I’m super stoked I was able to win. I wasn’t expecting it since all the other kids were so much bigger and older than me, but I guess the height I was getting made the difference,” Kreiner said. “I’m going to get destroyed against all the pros, but it’s going to be the best experience of my life.”

With the win at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, Kreiner earns a spot in the Dew Tour’s PlayStationŽ Pro in Orlando, Fla., October 15-18, to compete against the pros.

World Industries Hits the Road with Hardgoods. 09-21-2009
World Industries announces they will be hitting the road in Southern California, Arizona, and Southern Nevada with a mobile warehouse program. World has customized new vehicles and plans to have company sales representatives and products in front of the skate retailers on a more routine basis in the selected territories. The vehicles are set up as a mobile office and warehouse with an assortment of World’s best selling hardgoods, apparel and accessories available for at once sales and fulfilled right out of the van. The vehicle is stocked with a large assortment and will be able to handle single board to multiple board or larger purchases. This program gives the retailers an easier way to restock their hardgoods area at a higher frequency with no minimum order at a savings to them. Keeping the board wall looking well stocked with fresh new product. Pricing will remain at the regular wholesale cost.

“We’re really looking forward to using Southern California and the other select territories to test this concept. The hope is to be able to build this program into a great benefit for our skate retailers and move it into all territories across the U.S. By bringing the product to the shops we hope to add a little more savings to the retailer, help them increase the frequency in which they update their product offerings, and give them better margins on hardgoods. This is one way that World Industries is helping out our skate retailers” –John Dickinson, President

“Sales reps are on the road constantly, we think this is a great opportunity to create more brand awareness. The fully wrapped vehicles act as mobile marketing tools. Simultaneously, it gives World Industries a chance to build better relationships with our skate accounts by bringing World’s best selling products right to their front doors. Saving them time and money on shipping” – R.P. Bess, Director of Marketing

Gatorade Free Flow Tour Miami+Mesh Recap 09-11-2009

Words by Brett LaCour

Over the course of two weekends, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour made its way across Florida, bringing out the future of the state’s skateboarding at two back-to-back stops. From MIA on August 16th to Mesh Skatepark on the 22nd, the best Florida had to offer was in attendance for the chance to win a spot in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in Salt Lake City, Utah, September 17-20.

Florida’s top talent took center stage beginning at Miami’s MIA Skatepark to battle it out for the trip to the Finals. Beginning with 12 initial rounds of eliminations and a semifinal in between, the judges were able to select the top five skaters from the day for a final jam of epic proportions. In third was local shredder D’Andre Pendergrass coming through with a cab noseslide down the double set rail, fakie full cab over the double set, blunt down the marble hubba, and a crook down the double set rail. Jamie Foy took second, stomping a tre flip down the double set, a beefy frontside 180 over the rail on the hip, pop-shuv FS lip on the double set rail, nose grind on the same rail, and a blunt to fakie on the seven-foot quarter, following it up with a fakie full cab on the hip. Earning the trip to the Salt Lake City Finals for the second year in a row was CJ Dixon. CJ left no feature untouched and practically landed everything on his first try with effortless style. His nollie noseblunt down the double set rail, blunt to fakie on the bank to bank, kickflip front fifty on the marble hubbe, FS bigspin over the double set, and a FS bigspin frontside lip on the hip rail helped him solidify his win.

Following the Gatorade Free Flow Tour stop at MIA, the Tour picked up stakes and moved over to Mesh Skatepark in Longwood the next weekend. Once again, all the local rippers were in attendance, along with those who wanted a second chance at the title after competing at MIA.

The energy levels were high in the park when it came time for the contest. The finals were a stacked group of the five best. Alex Pellegrino rounded out the top three with a FS bigspin boardslide on the flat rail over the pyramid, BS bigspin boardslide on the double set rail, and a nollie inward heel over the hip. In second place was Paul Torrento with the most creative lines all day and the most original approach to the park with a backside noseblunt on the bank to bank, FS bigspin boardslide on the double set rail, and a gnarly transfer to wallride from the banked ledge nearby. Snagging the win and a plane ticket to the SLC Finals was Aaron Collier landing a grip of tricks that took place all over the park and consisted of a blunt kickflip to fakie on the super narrow quarter with high fall factor, kickflip back lip to fakie on the double set rail, switch flip over the double set, big FS 180 transfer from the quarter to wallride, switch FS board on the double set rail, and a nollie full cab flip over the hip.

Congrats to CJ and Aaron and good luck in the Finals! With 53 events on the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, they’ll be battling it out against some of the country’s best. But after seeing what last year’s overall champ Timmy Knuth has done, my guess is Florida will have another good showing at the Gatorade Free Flow Finals this year in Salt Lake City with these two guys leading the charge.

MIA Results Mesh Results
1st CJ Dixon, Cocoa Beach, Fla. 1st Aaron Collier, Sanford, Fla.
2nd Jamie Foy, Deerfield Beach, Fla. 2nd Paul Torrento, Longwood, Fla.

3rd D’Andre Pendergrass, Miami, Fla. 3rd Alex Pellegrino, Tampa, Fla.

ALEX MIDLER AND CALEB QUANBECK WIN GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR EVENTS AT WINDELL’S CAMP 08-12-2009
ALEX MIDLER AND CALEB QUANBECK WIN GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR EVENTS AT WINDELL’S CAMP

Duo Advances to Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in Salt Lake City

Burr Ridge, Ill. – August 10, 2009 – Out of a field of 24 BMX riders, Caleb Quanbeck won the BMX park competition Sunday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Mount Hood, Ore. Alex Midler took the skate park contest title on Saturday, beating out a total of 22 skaters to advance to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals.

Nineteen-year-old Quanbeck from Oregon City, Ore. earned the BMX park victory at Windell’s Camp after executing a number of technical tricks during his winning run, including a barspin turndown to seal the victory. Justin Sauter was second and Steven Brettbauer finished in third place.

“I have been to a couple of the Dew Tour stops in Portland, and they always have a great course,” Quanbeck said. “I can’t wait to ride in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in SLC, but I think my mom is more excited than I am.”

In Saturday’s action, Midler, an 11 year old from Calabasas, Calif., beat out 21 other skaters to earn the skate park victory, using a backside 360 down the five-stair set during the final jam session to punch his ticket for the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals. Brogan Robinson was second and Cody Maag rounded out the top three.

“I kept getting hung up on the back 360 at the Fontana contest [on June 6], but I got it on the first try at the finals today,” Midler said. “I was glad to get that out of the way. I had so much fun here snowboarding and skating all week, so to win on the Gatorade Free Flow tour just makes it even better.”

“We are super psyched on everything Gatorade brought to Windell’s this weekend,” Windell’s Camp owner, Tim Windell said.

With the win, Quanbeck and Midler each earns an automatic bid into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals that will take place at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 17-20, 2009.

DEW TOUR ANNOUNCES MATADOR BOLD REPLAY 08-12-2009
DEW TOUR ANNOUNCES MATADOR BOLD REPLAY

Super Slow-Motion Camera Will Capture Footage Used in NBC Broadcasts and on allisports.com

Burr Ridge, Ill. – August 7, 2009 – The Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, today announced the MATADOR Bold Replay. MATADOR by Jack Link’s, an associate partner on the Dew Tour, will be sponsoring a super slow-motion camera, whose footage will be used during the NBC broadcasts of the Dew Tour.

The camera used to capture the MATADOR Bold Replay shoots up to 2700 frames per second at 1080, and has real time live and discrete play channels – meaning it can record and play footage at the same time.

Also used in golf to show swing mechanics in super slow-motion, the camera will give fans the chance to break down the intricacies of skate, BMX and freestyle motocross tricks, giving them a better appreciation for the complexity of each sport.

“The same type of camera is used in Golf to slow down swing velocity, so it will definitely help breakdown the difficulties of a skateboard 360 flip to noseslide,” said Billy Matthews, Action Sports Coordinating Producer for NBC Sports. “The super slow motion camera will allow us to analyze tricks that are done in the blink-of-an-eye and educate the viewer on the complexities of the tricks.”

Each NBC broadcast of the Dew Tour will include one MATADOR Bold Replay, and a special feature on the MATADOR Bold Replay will be in NBC’s Dew Tour Highlight Show in November. Footage from the super slow-motion camera will also be available after each event on allisports.com.

In its fifth year, the Dew Tour is the most watched and attended action sports property in the world. Bill Owens for Altamont 08-05-2009
Los Angeles, CA - Bill Owens’ first book, Suburbia, published in 1973, was an instant success and later gained recognition as one the most influential photography books of the twentieth century. Bill’s peculiar knack for finding the unexpected strangeness, beauty and humor within the mundane would become a huge influence on following generations of artists. Evidenced of Bill’s inspiration can be found in the work of filmmakers such as Paul Thomas Anderson, Sofia Coppola and Wes Anderson.

Despite earning a Guggenheim fellowship and two NEA Grants, photography wasn’t paying the bills, so Bill followed his other passions, ultimately becoming a pioneer in the American home brewing movement. These days, Bill is making digital movies and has a few more books up his sleeve. He is a father, a brewer, a gardener, and founder of the American Brewing Institute. For 17 years he published American Brewer Magazine. His favorite toy is his Daisy BB Gun and he recently spent three months driving across the USA to photograph the New Suburbia.

In 1969, while working as a photojournalist for a local newspaper, Bill was on hand to document the concert at Altamont Speedway that would come to symbolize a turning point in youth culture. The Bill Owens for Altamont collection is comprised of some of those photos.

Now that we have your attention, SURF EXPO announces top pro and am skaters to skate the demo. 07-29-2009
With less than a month before Surf Expo, the world’s leading board,
beach, and fashion trade show announced details of its schedule of skateboarding events.

Eastern Skateboard Supply is sponsoring an incredible pro demo lineup, including Corey Duffel, Brandon Westgate, Joey Pepper and Chany Jeanguenin, Chad Bartie, Gareth Stehr, JT Aultz and Justin Brock, with more to be named. The skaters will hit Team Pain’s Skate Art with two daily sessions at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Surf Expo’s skate park. Stop by and talk to these skaters or grab an autograph across from Eastern’s booth (#1173) at 2p.m. daily.

Show Director Roy Turner says, “While Surf Expo is known for its business-first attitude, we are also aware that there is a ‘show’ in trade show. What better way to get excited about skateboarding than to team up with Eastern and its all-star lineup? We encourage everyone to stop by and watch the insane skating as well as take advantage of photo and video opps, perfect for store owners to place in ads and on the web. This is all about business --the skateboard business-- so bring your camera and skateboard and take advantage of what Team Pain and Eastern have cooked up for our August trade show."

When demos aren’t going on, Surf Expo attendees are invited to skate the steel and concrete fabricated Skate Art premiered by Team Pain to thousands at Surf Expo’s January show. Team Pain promises to bring even more unique urban-inspired features to Surf Expo this August. “We will be providing more of our contemporary skateable art pieces this show, with new designs, a larger course layout with more pieces and more prize money, and giveaways for anyone who wants to ride these features,” says Team Pain Owner Tim Payne. Art video from last Surf Expo here.

Red Bull Manny Mania in Miami this weekend. 07-27-2009
Bring your sunscreen and balance.

Residents of Miami should prepare for a two-wheel rumble, as the Red Bull Manny Mania amateur series gives 50 Florida skateboarders a shot at $7,000 in prizes and a chance for national recognition in the skateboard community.

The contest will take place indoors at the iconic Ice Palace; a location famous for the production of popular movies like Miami Vice and Transformers. But on Saturday August 1, 2009 film equipment and director chairs will be replaced with skateboards and street courses to perhaps set two wheels in motion towards a skateboarding career.

Red Bull Manny Mania is a unique contest that focuses on the “manual,” a skateboard trick that requires balance and technical skill in order to ride a board on only two of its four wheels. Skaters combine the “manual” with other tricks on a custom built pad to increase the level of difficulty and showcase their talent. Red Bull Manny Mania started three years ago as a professional contest that continues to take place in New York City annually. The amateur series gives up-and-coming skaters from across the U.S a chance to showcase their abilities and test their skills against other locals.

The winner of the Miami stop will have footage of their performance posted on the official Red Bull Manny Mania website to compete in the digital finals against other winners from 15 stops across the U.S. The skater with the most votes at the end of the summer wins a digital video camera prize pack valued at over $7,000.

Burr Ridge, Ill. – June 29, 2009 – Out of a field of 31 skaters, Taylor Bray won the skate park competition Saturday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Sixteen-year-old Bray from Weatherford, Texas earned the skate park victory at Alliance Skatepark after executing a backflip and a nollie bigspin during the final jam session. Josh Love took second place and Jordan Halley rounded out the top three.

“The contest was sick!” Bray said. “I’m glad I won, but I’m glad it’s over too. It was so hot today.”

“It was a solid event today,” Mark Laue, owner of Alliance Skatepark, said. “We’ve hosted the Gatorade Free Flow Tour two years in a row now, and the crowds and the athletes keep getting bigger. It’s really great to see Gatorade taking an interest in supporting amateur skaters. I look forward to seeing how Taylor does in SLC!”

Duo Advances to Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in Salt Lake City

Burr Ridge, Ill. – June 22, 2009 – Out of a field of 21 BMX riders, Mykely Larrin won the BMX park competition Saturday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Milwaukee, Wis. Jack Olson took the title in the skate park competition on Sunday, beating out 66 other skaters to advance to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals.

Twenty one-year-old Larrin from Racine, Wis. earned the BMX park victory at 4 Seasons Skatepark on Saturday after landing a double tailwhip and a backflip during his winning run. Corey Ellis was second and Nick Baner finished in third place.

“I really had an awesome time at the contest today,” Larrin said. “I really appreciate 4 Seasons holding BMX riders down and sticking with us for so many years. Looking forward to getting to Salt Lake City and continuing the fun.”

In Sunday’s skate park action, 14-year-old Olson from St. Louis Park, Minn. executed a front feeble down the big rail and switch boardslide 270 during the final jam session to claim the victory in the competition. Andre Colbert took second place and Nathan Morley rounded out the top three.

Olson is a two-time finalist on the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, also winning the Des Moines, Iowa event last year.

“It was fun skating all the Gatorade Free Flow Tour stops so far,” Olson said. “I’m really psyched to go to Salt Lake City.”

“The Gatorade Free Flow Tour gives local shredder a platform to take it to the next level,” Neal Levin, owner of 4 Seasons, said. “We’re proud to have 4 Seasons be a part of it.”

With the win, both Larrin and Olson earn an automatic bid into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals that will take place at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 17-20, 2009.

ETNIES AND THUNDER PRESENT A VERY SPECIAL RVL COLORWAY 06-17-2009
ETNIES AND THUNDER PRESENT A VERY SPECIAL RVL COLORWAY

From Jim Thiebaud…

“This shoe, what it stands for, and how it came about is a perfect example of the effect Johnny Romano had, and will forever have, on skateboarding.

Johnny was a 10-year-old skater form Galveston, Texas whose love of skateboarding and courageous perseverance through his battle with Leukemia captured the hearts of the entire skateboard community worldwide. He never wanted to be known as ‘Johnny, the skater with Leukemia.’ He was simply Johnny the skater and we all followed his journey with our hearts on our collective sleeves.

A few months after Johnny lost his battle with Leukemia, Sean Malto and Mikey Taylor approached me with an idea to do something with Thunder and etnies to pay tribute to Johnny, as well as raise money and awareness for the JOHNNYKICKSCANCER Foundation that the Romano family founded. The result was the etnies / Thunder RVL as well as a matching colorway Thunder truck.

Johnny may have lost his battle, but he won the war. His memory and his impact on all of us in skateboarding will live forever. Thank you to everyone who was there for the journey and thank you to everyone who keeps it going.

This one's for you Johnny. We miss the fuck out of you.”

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the etnies / Thunder RVL will go to the JOHNNYKICKSCANCER Foundation. Emerica & Earthless present 06-17-2009
Emerica & Earthless present...

Los Angeles, CA - Hailing from San Diego, California, Earthless is Mario Rubalcaba (drums), Isaiah Mitchell (guitar), and Mike Eginton (bass). Close friends of Emerica, Earthless plays mostly instrumental, partially structured / improvised, grooved out and loud psychedelic stoner rock with a lot of cosmic nodding. In appreciation of the band, Emerica teamed up with them to design a very special limited-edition shoe, The Nailer Earthless.

Earthless is the perfect soundtrack for skateboarding, and it's no coincidence. Drummer Mario Rubalcaba is a formal professional skateboarder, who not only shreds on the drums but still rips hard on his board to this day! Earthless has been featured in Emerica’s Wild Ride videos, and will also be heard in our Stay Gold video, coming soon. Check out the Stay Gold Teaser #2 for a small sampling of how awesome they are.

Earthless is currently working on a new record, with current tunes available at CD Universe or at iTunes. Check them out, and support this truly great and talented psychedelic masterpiece of a band--you will not be disappointed.

Burr Ridge, Ill. – June 6, 2009 – Out of a field of 49 skaters, Brendon Villanueva won the skate park competition Saturday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Fontana, Calif.

After finishing in second place at last week’s Gatorade Free Flow Tour contest in Encinitas, Calif., 14-year-old Villanueva from Poway, Calif. earned the skate park victory at Fontana North Skatepark Saturday after skating consistently throughout the day and executing a hard flip down the eight set during the final jam session. Anthony Estrada was second and Patrick Placentia finished in third place.

“I am so psyched to go to the Finals!” Villanueva said. “I had a great time today.”

“Gatorade really proved to skaters today that they care about the future of skateboarding,” General Manager of Fontana North Skatepark, Chris Thomas said. “The organization of the contest and the opportunity that the Gatorade Free Flow Tour gave the local talent really showed us what its focus for the future is. We really respect that.”

With the win, Villanueva earns an automatic bid into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals that will take place at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 17-20, 2009.

EMERICA’S WILD IN THE STREETS 2009 BENEFITTING LEESIDE SKATEPARK
Emerica’s Wild in the Streets Hits Vancouver, B.C. June 21, 2009 to Benefit Skateboarder Lee Matasi’s (RIP) LeeSide Skatepark

Los Angeles, CA – Emerica’s Wild in the Streets main event goes international for the first time! The Emerica team will be heading up to Vancouver, BC, Canada for Go Skateboarding Day on June 21, 2009, for Wild in the Streets. This year, Wild in the Streets will benefit LeeSide, the underground DIY skatepark that Vancouver skateboarder and artist Lee Matasi envisioned and began creating before his untimely death. Lee was shot and killed in 2005, but lives on through LeeSide.

An Emerican army consisting of a few thousand skateboarders will charge the streets of Vancouver during the Wild in the Streets 2009. Emerica is hosting the event this year to raise awareness about Lee Matasi, to raise money to help LeeSide continue to grow, and to support the Vancouver skateboarding community. Emerica will be selling t-shirts and all funds raised during the event will go toward the construction of new obstacles for LeeSide.

Make your plans now to head to Canada’s Hot Corner. If you can’t make it to Vancouver and are interested in organizing your own Wild in the Streets event, finding an event planned near you or for more information on Emerica’s Wild in the Streets, be sure to check out http://www.emericawildinthestreets/

In case you need another reason to head to Vancouver, the Emerica team will be making an appearance at Underworld on Saturday, June 20th at 2:00 p.m., followed by a session at LeeSide with the entire team.

CHASE WEBB AND SAMMY SCHOONDERWOERD WIN GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR EVENTS AT ECKE YMCA 06-03-2009

Duo Advances to Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in Salt Lake City

Burr Ridge, Ill. – May 31, 2009 – Out of a field of 64 skaters, Chase Webb won the skate park competition and Sammy Schoonderwoerd won the skate vert contest Sunday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Encinitas, Calif.

Fourteen-year-old Webb from Murrieta, Calif. earned the skate park victory at the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA after executing a kickflip front board and a tre flip down the six stair during the final jam session. Brandon Villanueva was second and AJ Comeau finished in third place.

Webb is a two-time finalist on the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, also winning the Reno, Nev. event in 2008.

“I can’t wait to back to SLC for the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals,” Webb said. “I had so much fun last year.”

In front of a crowd that included professional vert skaters Adam Taylor, Jean Postec and Danny Mayer, 13-year-old Schoonderwoerd from Carlsbad, Calif. used technical tricks like a McTwist and a kickflip indy to secure the win in the skate vert contest. Joey Hamlisch took second place, while Tom Schaar rounded out the top three.

“It feels really good to win on the Gatorade Free Flow Tour,” Schoonderwoerd said. “The Finals are going to be so fun!”

Also in attendance at Sunday’s contest were former Gatorade Free Flow Tour winners Zach Miller, Josh Stafford and Paul-Luc Ronchetti, the 2008 Gatorade Free Flow Tour skate vert champion.

“It looked sketchy from the start due to the rainy beginning,” Ecke YMCA park manager, Heather Randant said. “Thankfully, that all cleared up. Lots of local skaters came out and put on an awesome contest.”

With the win, both Webb and Schoonderwoerd earn an automatic bid into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals that will take place at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 17-20, 2009.

Thieves Be Aware!!!! 05-22-2009
We Are Coming To Get You. On Thursday morning we had a couple of thieves break into Progressive Skatepark looking for what I believe was the $23,000.00 we raised for breast cancer research. It wasn’t there so they proceeded to vandalize our business instead. But like most thieves, they were dumb asses. I’m calling the two of you out directly. I’ll call you Mr. Nixon and Mr. B. Let me tell you a few details. I know you came in the building around 2:45am and stayed until 4:45. From the time you opened the shoe room door until the time you left we have you on surveillance video. Let me drop you a few hints to let you know I’m not BSing you. Mr. Nixon (because of the white Nixon Beanie you have on) remember when you got the Fallen Skeleton gloves out of the case, did you leave something behind? Here’s another one for you, remember when you bought a Powerade at 4:38 am, you left us some really good evidence then. Mr. B. (for the Plan B shirt wrapped around your face), why did you take off your disguise why you were still in the building? Dude, did you not see the surveillance camera right behind your head? By the way man, nice white shoes you were wearing. Also, let your driver know that today we are getting surveillance tape from our neighbors that monitor the road behind our building. We will know what kind of car you were driving by this afternoon. A note to the driver, you’re going down like the other two and I will own your car. Do I have your attention now? I along with a team of investigators are coming after you, we know what you look like and we will have your names within the next 24-48 hours. I’ll make you a deal, return all the merchandise you took from me in the next 24 hours, I don’t care how I get it back, just get it back and you guys will walk on this. If not, Let me give you fair warning, myself along with my team will hunt you down, we will find you and I will make life a living hell for you and your family. You didn’t just steal from me, you came after money that so many skaters worked so hard for to support cancer. The resources I have to catch you go beyond your imagination. I will hunt you down like the pigs that you are and I will personally prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law, which by the way, will be felony burglary, breaking and entering and anything else the Detectives can come up with. Guys, you messed with the wrong person on the wrong day, I will devote every moment to finding you and I WILL. So unless you guys feel like sitting in the big house for the next four years, you better start figuring how to get everything back to me right now. Maybe one of ya’ll might want to rat out one of each other, I’ll make it a point that you won’t be prosecuted. Let it also be known that anyone caught buying any of this merchandise will also be charged with abetting these pieces of crap. You guys should be feeling a bit sick in you stomach’s right now, keep an eye out over your shoulder, were right around the corner. If you know of any one trying to sell skateboard decks, wheels, trucks, bearings, jeans, tees, hats at super discounted prices, let us know. I’m sure I can find some reward money for you. Let’s find these guys, there not what skating about. Progressive Skatepark 770-704-7528

Progressive Skatepark gives back. 05-21-2009
I remember this all started as an idea driving to work back in January. I heard a radio commercial about the Avon Three Day Breast Walk for Cancer and thought it would be cool to hook up a park mom to do the walk. Within a week the idea bloomed into sponsoring a team of moms to walk. It's not your average walk, it's 60 miles in three days. Anyway I threw the idea at all of ya'll and it was so cool, no one turned me down when I asked for the help. Without the support from everyone of you, I could not have pulled off what could be one of my proudest skateboard moments ever. The goal was to raise $10,000.00 to pay the entree fee to the Avon Walk, my dream was to raise $15,000.00 and give the extra five grand to The keep A Breast Foundation. Well here's what went down, I had a total of 52 skaters enter the event, land as many tricks in two minutes as they could and collect donations from sponsors to support breast cancer. It was a super easy concept, but would people support it? Just last week, I woke up one morning in a full panic attack, all I could think about was what happens if I only raise $2,500.00? I would have let so many people down. I finally calmed myself down thinking that the "family" wouldn't let me down. You guessed it, they didn't. Are you ready for this. We raised $23,047.29 and I still have maybe another 10% more coming. Within the next couple of days we should hit the $25,000.00 mark. That's 10 grand more than my dream number! Think about that......
52 skaters, skating for two minutes each. We raised all this cash in an hour and 44 minutes. I am so blown away right now. Tonight we presented the skaters who raised the most money, their skate adventures of a lifetime. I did run into a big dilemma, I had six kids raise over $1,500.00 each. You can't let a kid go un rewarded for such an accomplishment. First thing this morning I contacted Reggie and Jocelyn at Eastern and asked if I could send the whole group up instead of just the 2nd place kid. Without hesitation they agreed. I just don't know how to thank all you guys, you made a dream of mine come true. Today was a day I really needed in my life right now, so again, thanks so much for being there for me and believing in what I thought could be done. It was a great day for skateboarders in our community and a step closer to finding a cure for this nasty disease.

Chad Hazeltine raised the most money and will be headed for the west coast for his Skate Adventure. Chad brought in $4,223.00. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR 2009 SCHEDULE 05-07-2009
GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR ANNOUNCES PACKED 2009 SCHEDULE

Stellar Park Lineup Highlights Amateur Skateboard Series, Registration Now Open at GatoradeFreeFlowTour.com

Burr Ridge, Ill. – May 6, 2009 – Seeking to find the best amateur skaters and BMX riders across the country this summer, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour announced today the complete schedule for the 2009 season. The skate portion of the Tour officially kicks off May 16 in Burlington, Vt. at Talent Skatepark, and registration for all events is now open at gatoradefreeflowtour.com.

The 2009 Gatorade Free Flow Tour will include a total of 33 skateboarding competitions (five skate vert and 28 skate park) at 28 parks across the United States. The winners in each of the 33 skate competitions will be flown to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, taking place at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 17-20. Encompassing the “Flow to Pro” theme that is the cornerstone of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, the two overall skate park and vert champions earn a spot to compete against the pros at the final stop of the Dew Tour, the PlayStationŽ Pro in Orlando, Fla., October 15-18.

Highlighting the 2009 skate schedule are the additions of top skateparks M.I.A. in Miami, Fla., Warp in Chicago, Ill. and Epic in Rocklin, Calif. The Gatorade Free Flow Tour will also be returning to Ecke YMCA in Encinitas, Calif. and San Diego, Calif.’s Mission Valley YMCA. Committed to holding competitions in the best skateparks across the country, the 2009 schedule also returns to other standout parks including the Autumn Ramp Park (Joplin, Mo.), Charm City (Baltimore, Md.), Alliance (Grand Prairie, Texas) and the Skatelab (Simi Valley, Calif.).

In 2008, Paul-Luc Ronchetti (skate vert) and Timmy Knuth (skate park) were crowned the overall champions. Ronchetti, from England, earned his berth into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals at the Camp Woodward (Philadelphia) stop of the ’08 circuit, going on to claim the overall skate vert title and a spot in the season-ending Dew Tour event. At the PlayStationŽ Pro, Ronchetti proved that he could skate with the best, narrowly missing the finals and finishing 10th in prelims. Since, Ronchetti has won England’s Autumn Open Vert Championship, also taking third at the 2009 Tampa Am vert competition.

A fixture on the amateur competition series, Cocoa Beach, Fla.-native Knuth placed third in the 2008 Maloof Money Cup am street contest before winning the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop at Kona Skatepark. Knuth built on his momentum, going on to take the title at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in Salt Lake City. At the Dew Tour’s PlayStationŽ Pro, Knuth took on top pro skaters – including Ryan Sheckler, Greg Lutzka, Paul Rodriguez and Chaz Ortiz – and finished fourth in the finals. Since then, Knuth has taken fourth at the Costa Mesa leg of the ’08 Damn Am series and second at the 2009 Phoenix Am.

Past Gatorade Free Flow Tour skate park champions include Jeff Ward (2005), David Loy (’06) and Chaz Ortiz (’07, defending Dew Cup skate park winner) and skate vert champion Ben Hatchell (’07).

The 2009 Gatorade Free Flow Tour skate schedule* includes the following dates and locations:

Hazard County Skatepark X GFL Cancer Benefit 04-17-2009
Mason is a ten-year-old boy diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma in March 2008. Since that time he has had some remission but has also relapsed twice and suffered a coma caused by one of the chemo drugs. He also suffered kidney damage at that same time which almost kept him from receiving his Bone Marrow Transplant. Thanks be to God, Amy and Travis were directed to Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham and to Dr. Martin, who gladly took on Mason's case.
His Bone Marrow Transplant took place Jan 08/2009 with his little brother Gavin, as his perfectly matching donor. Going through transplant was rough on Mason; it is on all these precious children. He made it through and was discharged to a local apartment waiting that magical 100th day. Sadly, more cancer cells were found in his central nervous system at approximately Day 53. The family was devastated and frankly the doctors didn't know what to do, but after regrouping, this amazing family pulled up their bootstraps and is now forging ahead with THE NEW PLAN, put together by Dr. Martin and colleagues. The McLeod family mission statement… Save Mason, No giving up allowed. God is with us, we know this. So many people are praying for Mason, we know this as well. Mason's wish is simple, he wants to go home and just be a normal boy again.

ETNIES PUTS THOUSANDS OF HOMELESS ON FLOW 04-11-2009
Los Angeles, CA – Over the last decade, etnies has flowed more than 25,000 pairs of shoes to homeless people living in Los Angeles! The current tough economic times have led to the rise of homeless people in L.A., and today Pierre Andre and a crew from etnies hung out with the Skid Row residents. etnies teamed up with the Los Angeles Mission to break through some of the doom and gloom, and provide more than 2,000 men, women and kids with a hot meal and a brand new pair of etnies shoes.

“In these tough economic times, there is more reason than ever to help those in need and give back to the causes that touch your heart – for me this is the Los Angeles Mission,” said etnies owner Pierre Andre Senizergues. “For over 10 years my team and I have donated thousands of shoes to the homeless on Skid Row and this year will be no different. Not only because the need will be greater, but because it is this small contribution that can make a difference in someone’s life.”

So you want to be SIMA's Retail Store of the year??? 04-01-2009
Some of you are probably asking yourself, what the hell is Sima? Here is the crazy part. It's an acronym for the freaking, Surf Industry Manufacturer Association. These people give awards out to companies at trade shows in back room meeting halls while the rest of us are getting our drink on at whatever free party we can get into. Well, just last year Active Mail Order was given it's highest award for a retail store. Retail Store of the Year!!! So you want to become that next year? It's real easy, Here's what you do!

Step 1. Put up a bunch of stores and not worry about that you aren't making any more money.

Step 2. Don't worry about it, because you aren't paying your bills anyway. Especially to the companies that are filling your stores up with merchandise.

Step 3. Screw everybody and every other store out there that you put your store next to. Who cares if those other stores have been supporting the scene, and been giving back to skateboarding for years?

Step 4. Accept the award, make some speech, and glow in your temporary success.

Step 5. File for bankruptcy, and do it all over again in a different industry. I mean who cares, it's not like you really care about skateboarding anyway?

Get more of the story
HERE.

Sorry to all of our friends and skateboarders in the industry that have been affected by this, and to those that got downsized and lost their jobs due to this.

These people make me sick. Support your local grassroots store. Support real skateboarders, support each other.

Seven Ply Recycled Skateboard Designs 03-27-2009
Recycling is all the rage today. My girlfriend gets on me if I "accidentally" throw out some paper, plastic, or glass in the trash can. But she doesn't care about my old skateboards that are stacking up. Well, here's a young lady that does care and has found life for skateboards after they're done being shredded. Check out this innovative person and her company HERE.

ERGO is pleased to welcome Kris Markovich to its pro skate team. 03-24-2009
Southern gentleman, skateboarder and artist, Markovich, brings to ERGO both longevity and respect within the skate community. His major accomplishments range from launching his own skateboard company to securing continuous coverage in skate magazines, broadcast and film for more than a decade.

“Kris will be playing a key role at ERGO in cultivating our skate program,” says ERGO Vice President, Pete DiSpirito. “We are excited to give Kris that family feeling that he has been searching for from a company.”

In the coming year, expect to see Markovich traveling throughout the United States skateboarding with the ERGO team while making several stops along the way to feature his artwork; also expect to see his artwork on several signature ERGO items each season.

As soon as we stepped through the front door the celebrity sighting had begun. Mike Sinclair was trying to ollie over Elissa Steamer. Darrell Stanton and P Rod were getting their wristbands, and the first thing I saw on the course was Mark Appleyard tre flipping the pyramid like it was no thang.

But today's highlight was the TM/ Industry VIP contest. These guys have paid their dues and still rip.

Boogie for Altamont 03-18-2009
Boogie for Altamont

Los Angeles, CA - Boogie started photographing rebellion and unrest in his hometown of Belgrade, Serbia in the early 1990s. In an unlikely twist of fate, he won a lottery visa to the United States. With just a camera and no money in his pocket, Boogie quickly found his new home in the ghettos of New York City. The images depicted in the Boogie for Altamont collection are photos he took for his first book, It’s All Good, which documents the lives of gang members and drug addicts around his home in Brooklyn / Bed-Stuy.

A quick interview with Chris Cole by Ian Berry 03-16-2009
How long have you been living in California?
It's been about 9 months now. Yikes!

Is it officially home yet?
Sort of, our daily routine is great here. I just wish all of our family was out here as well. Skating street on the East kills skating out here in Cali (sorry but it is straight up true). You can just skate around at real spots, there isn't a posse already filming there, or cops stalking the joint.

Are there plans to ever move back to the East Coast?
I would like to eventually, even if it is to go and die. I wanna return to where I came from.

Are you getting more into the business world of the skateboard industry?
Yes and no. I was more in tune with how the skate shops run and survive while in Philly. Now I am learning what sells to who, cost efficiency, and what not.

You have been biking lately, what got you started on that?
Robbie Morales, of FIT BIKE CO. is a skate fan. Super cool dude; I got hooked up by him. It is really fun, and different from skating. It gives you that awesome feeling of learning tricks and doing something gnarly, just like skating. The difference is you have a new set of rules. You can't kickflip, but you can (not me) bar-spin.

Most skaters are not into biking due to the fact they chunk up ledges, and are pretty brutal on skate spots. What is your take on that?
I felt a similar way when I was younger. The difference between good bikers and beginners is good bikers do minimal damage to a ledge. They don't slam down very often. I, for instance, don't grind ledges for that reason. If you look at videos of bikers though it is sick! The whole FIT team kills, Garrett Reynolds' part in the Nike video, Van Homan...there are tons of awesome dudes.

Your son Wyatt has his own board?
Yeah! For Christmas, Jamie got the woodshop to make Wyatt a perfect sized board for him. It is so legit, it has 7 plys, my Flashback graphic, and it is a 'Jamie' shape, just shrunken. I have a 49mm wheel out, so those are on there too. I ordered a board for myself, which you will see in the upcoming months on the ZERO site.

Does Wyatt shred?
He does! I am really proud of him, he can pretty much ollie. He rides by himself, and can go up about a 3 foot quarter pipe and roll fakie back. So sick.

How often do you guys skate together?
Almost everyday. He loves to get out and do active stuff, and obviously I do too. He is my best friend.

What happens next for you as far as video parts after you put out a part like 'Ride The Sky'?
I wonder that after every part. It gets hard, but you just chip away trying to be the best you can. That's all you can do right?

About No Age:
“The music is an invitation and rallying call for individuals to get involved in a community which celebrates art and experimentation,” No Age’s Randy Randall explains. “It’s DIY on a different scale, an attempt to reacquaint people with the notion that art is a crucial part of everyday life. No Age is more than a band to us,” he continues. “It is an umbrella.” And, under this umbrella, Dean and Randy have curated art shows, designed shirts, hats, bandanas, etc., made videos and ‘zines. No Age prefers to perform in unique venues: the LA River Basin, a public library, book stores, an Ethiopian restaurant, all to foster new ways to experience live music outside of traditional bar/club settings. www.myspace.com/nonoage

About The Goat & The Occasional Others:
The Goat & the Occasional Others is a Los Angeles-based garage band. Formed in 2007 by two skateboarders with too much time on their hands and too much creative energy to keep bottled up. Andrew Reynolds (guitar) and Shane Heyl (vox) were quickly joined by their good friends Kevin “Spanky” Long (guitar) and Beagle Oneism (drums) to create The Goat’s first record, a vinyl 10” self-titled EP released in 2008 as a promotional item in very limited quantities by Altamont Apparel Ltd., Reynolds’ Los Angeles-based skateboard clothing company featuring the band logo and cover artwork designed by the notorious graffiti writer NECKFACE. Soon after this first release, The Goat added the Atiba Jefferson on keyboards to complete the line-up. Through this much sought after release and some energetic and intense early live shows, The Goat quickly established a cult following amongst everyone from professional skateboarders like Eric Koston and Guy Mariano, to the porn actress Crystal Clear and the celebrated movie actor Ryan Gosling. Gosling, himself a musician in the band Dead Man’s Bones, introduced the band to the label Wolfheart Records in Los Angeles, for whom The Goat is currently recording their first full length entitled “The Goat Speaks” to be release in Spring 2009. As much fun as these guys have making and playing music, loyal skate fans need not worry, none of these guys have any plans for quitting their “day jobs” anytime soon! www.myspace.com/thegoattime

About Altamont:
Find a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life.

Confucius said that a long time ago, and all of us here at Altamont live by that principle today. We love to design exceptional clothing. Each season, Altamont is honored to bring together a diverse group of creative outcasts — people who make their living by doing what they love most — be they skateboarders, musicians, artists or designers. These people are, like Altamont, cut from a different cloth, and we invite their direct contributions to our collection so their stories will inspire you to pursue whatever it is you love, and maybe even splash some paint yourself, slap metal to coping, start your own band, and make a contribution.

We know that not everyone is going to like everything we do, and that's fine with us. Altamont isn't meant for everyone. In fact, we hope those people will consider this an invitation to get up and start their own clothing company! www.altamontapparel.com

Doogood 02-09-2009
Doogood is now the largest, least funded action sports charity in the world. No one except the web designer, stationary printer and the web host has ever been paid. All shipping monies have come out of Ari Evan's pocket or through a fundraising event. This simply cannot keep up with the growth of Doogood, which now has 33 PROGRAMS IN 10 STATES AND 4 COUNTRIES.

A solution: a doogood wheel, deck, shirt, jean, shoe or jacket where 50 percent gross profit is used to purchase a UPS card to cover Doogood's expanding shipping costs.
Our Doogood board and shirt put out in collaberation with Crimson sold out before it was even written up in Transworld. We received not one dime from that unfortunate situation.

We have affected 30, 000 children worldwide through providing free skateboard programs, literacy programs and art programs.
We have a PSA playing on Fuel TV that display our involvement with The Hood Games and the very first skateboarding event in the Tenderlion of San Fransisco.

New TF's are all the rage. 01-27-2009
Here's is the new TF that the good people over at Etnies just constructed. Not sure what the policy is on how to skate it yet, but I would think it might be a good idea if you know anyone that rides for Etnies, or works for them, you might wanna start hanging out with them more.

ASR 01-19-2009
We will be out of town this weekend attending ASR Trade Show in San Diego. I can't wait I wish we were already there. If you are going here are 10 things you gotta grab to make you trip a little bit more fun and on point.

10 Things you gotta grab at ASR.

1). Bags. First and foremost you have to grab a bag. It might not sound like much but you are going to need it to carry the rest of your gear in.

2). Stickers, buttons, and posters. Most booths have at least one of these goodies you can pick up with ease wile walking the isles of ASR.

3). A photo with the Reef girls. Even if you are not a big fan of surfing everyone is a fan of the Reef girls.

4). T Shirts. Most companies have a secret stash of shirts around somewhere. When you are putting in your order don't be afraid to ask for a few promo shirts.

5). Product catalogs. If your eyes are bigger than your wallet you should still ask for catalogs of future products. They are always good to have on deck in your shop or in your office. And 6 months down the road when that product is brand new and hitting stores you can tell all your friends "I saw that 6 months ago at ASR in January."

6). Create a Skate presented by legend Paul Schmitt. It takes about 2 hours but to hand craft your own skateboard but it is well worth it!

7). Nixon City Guide and Planner. I like to be as organized as possible to get the most out of my ASR experience and Nixon makes it easy with a neat little pocket map of all the hot spots in San Diego.

8). (a)Beer! (b) Beer cuzie. We work hard, but never too hard. If you see a drink cuzie laying around pick it up. The beer is sure to flow closer to the end of the show.

9). A good seat. This January 09 ASR is working with The Skate Park of Tampa, Damn Am, Nike SB, and The Skateboard Mag to bring you Amature Fight Night. Spit out your mouth guard and leave your gloves at home just get a good seat and enjoy the show. Thursday, Jan 22 6pm San Diego Cobvention Center. FREE and Open to the public.

10). Business cards. Don’t forget to ask for a business card. Add it to your rolodex and keep your business relationship going!

Surf Expo 01-19-2009
I always look forward to trade shows. Some I like better than others but I always have a great time. This year Team Pain had a street course with some new obstacles that were super fun to skate and was completely new and fresh. Matt Hensley's Pub was also posted in the corner of the show floor keeping the party going. And you know there were tons of very pretty ladies.
